About Kim
Kim Jacobs was born in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a classic hairstylist. In 2007 she became a British citizen.
In 1991, she gained her qualifications at Cape Town Technical College aged 19. While studying, she met Rolf Losken of Maison Frank Intercoiffer who later became her employer and mentor. After serving a 3 year apprenticeship, she continued working there as a senior hairstylist. She has often been referred to as one of the best hairdressers in London.
In her years as a junior at Maison Frank, she participated in every hairdressing apprentice competition held in Cape Town and was among the winners in nearly every event.
She assisted the late Alexander de Paris on stage at the now Artscape Theatre in Cape Town .She also participated in numerous hairdressing events.
Some included hair shows, technical workshops, charity cutting events, photographic shoots, manufactures product knowledge quizzes, Salon press promotions and an L’Oreal Colour Trophy finalist.
In 2000 she left for London where she began working at Smith and Gardner in Chelsea. She soon established and maintained an exceptional clientele. She introduced hair extensions to the salon and was also involved in junior training.
In 2004 she started at the renowned Errol Douglas. She was involved in an exhibition at Salon International, a Fashion show at the History Museum. She participated and assisted at photo shoots and for a while managed the Art Team.
In 2007 she registered as a Freelance Hairdresser and remains one of the few best hairdressers in London.
